Dues are $15 paid in January of each year. Membership: To be eligible for Council membership, one must be a member of a club Federated with National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC) and must have received an Environmental Consultants’ certificate or must have passed two of the four courses. To retain membership, a Consultant must remain in good standing with NGC and pay annual dues to the FGCMD Council ($15.00 payable January of each year.) All members shall have voting privileges, but only FGCMD members are eligible to hold office. Two field trips of interest will be scheduled each year, accompanied by a short Council meeting. Schools: For members interested in the appreciation of the natural world, school courses teach participants environmental literacy, encourage action for sustainable development and offer an appreciation for the interrelation of all natural things. Certification for an Environmental Consultant is earned by attending four courses in a seven year period. Members are welcome to attend the courses without the objective of becoming an Environmental Consultant and schools are open to everyone, whether or not they are garden club members "Jean Lowry Sustainable Landscape Award" - An Environmental Consultants Council Award of $500 may be awarded to a FGCMD club for an outstanding sustainable landscape project as outlined on the attached application, which is due by November 1st.
